Homeless Poem

I wanna ride through the endless night…with you
I wanna gaze at the countless stars…with you
I wanna glean from the sacred rites
I need to feel the emptiness die
Feel as free as free as light
Reflecting off your silent eyes tonight

I am ready to climb through the reckless tide
Swim in the deep blue sea
The sea of blue deep and rich
With freedom and anguish and honesty

I wanna hold your hand tight as I can
Hold a séance and awaken the dead
Keep the flames burning silently in my head
Celebrate the consecration of this day
Until the morning comes and takes it away.

I wanna fill the empty dreams…for you
I wanna fix the broken time…for you
I wanna run through the burning bush
Tear holy pages from the arcane book
Scream like hell ‘til the steel and stone
Melt and mix into flesh and bone
’Til earthen clay stands up and takes
The callused hand of this impotent fate
To lead us to apathy’s gate
Where we must sit and silently await
The inevitable end to this otherwise glorious
Not quite pathetic
Splendid and spectral
Haunting and hectic
Languidly walked upon day.
