The Absurdity of Life’s Paradoxes
The grass is still grass on the other side
And a bird in the hand is bound to poop
You can squander your time idly wishing
But there’s more than one fly in your soup.
The early worm will get eaten first
And you can count your chickens before they hatch
The squeaky wheel is really the worst.
But you waste more time than you can catch.
You can offer two cents for a bother
But can’t bother to show any sense
When a paradox kills your grandfather
You’re just pissing on an electric fence
I dreamed of reckoning with persistence
And a life without the weight of pretense
Where the devil in the details gave no resistance
And the demons raised their defense
The road less traveled is unfit to drive
And opportunity doesn’t bother knocking
It takes more than strength to merely survive
Yet the punchline is brutally shocking.
These oddities are meant to amuse the masses
To keep us distracted from the ultimate con
The clown car spectacle still harasses
While the real circus rolls grimly on.
